Com foco na produção do artista de meados da década de 80 até a sua morte em 1993, a exposição é a primeira mostra individual nos Estados Unidos de uma das principais figuras da arte contemporânea brasileira.  

Focused on Leonilson's production from the mid-1980s until his death in 1993, the exhibition is the first solo show in the United States of one of Brazil’s leading contemporary artists.

The region's literary depth goes well beyond magical realism.

Lavishly illustrated, and with essays and an interview with the artist, the book provides an in-depth introduction to the work of one of Mexico’s major emerging contemporary artists.

“The Mexican history embedded in [Erick Meyenberg’s] video is what gives this show real gravitas,” says the review of the exhibition, on view through July 29.
