Video: Meet the Rolston Quartet

The winners of this year's Banff International String Quartet Competition got a visit from Music of the Americas at Yale before their December 8 performance at Americas Society.

Meet the Rolston String Quartet, which will be performing at Americas Society in New York on December 8, 2017. The winners of this year's Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) spoke with Music of the Americas Director Sebastián Zubieta about committing to quartet life, new music, and the repertoire they will perform in New York.

Since 2008, Music of the Americas has hosted first-place winners of the BISQC. For the most recent competition, Americas Society co-commissioned Canadian composer Zosha Di Castri's first string quartet with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the BISQC. Hailed as "electrifying" by Strings Magazine, Rolston String Quartet was recently named fellowship quartet-in-residence at Yale School of Music.

Check out Luri Lee (violin), Jeffrey Dyrda (violin), Hezekiah Leung (viola), and Jonathan Lo (cello) rehearsing at Yale and talking more about their work with Music of the Americas Director Sebastián Zubieta.

Register and get your tickets to see the Rolston String Quartet at Americas Society on December 8.
