Former positions include being the manager of Research and Public Policy at Banco Santander Chile as from 2017 until his appointment as a Board member of the Central Bank of Chile.

In this role, he is responsible for the e-commerce business across Latin America, which includes Marketplace (third-party sellers), Retail, Ads, Logistics and Fulfillment services. Ariel joined Mercado Libre in 2017 as VP of Strategy and Corporate Development. After a year in this seat, he moved to Mercado Envíos, where lead the design, planning and execution of all the logistics and fulfillment operations for the company for four years.
