Ximena Rincón González
Energy Minister of Chile
Ximena Rincón González is a lawyer and the minister of energy in the government of President José Antonio Kast. She has had an extensive career in the public sector, serving as minister of labor and heading the Ministry of the General Secretariat of the Presidency in 2014, 2015, and 2016. She was a senator representing the Maule Region, during which time she served as president of the Senate of the Republic. She became the first woman to serve as governor of Santiago during the administration of President Ricardo Lagos Escobar. She previously served as superintendent of social security and as executive vice president of the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of Women (Prodemu) during the administration of President Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle.
Ximena Rincón González es abogado y actual ministra de Energía del gobierno del Presidente José Antonio Kast. Ha tenido una amplia trayectoria en el sector público desempeñándose como ministra del Trabajo y liderando el Ministerio Secretaría General de la Presidencia en los años 2014, 2015 y 2016. Fue senadora por la Región del Maule, ejerciendo durante ese periodo la presidencia del Senado de la República. Se convirtió en la primera mujer intendenta de Santiago durante el Gobierno del Presidente Ricardo Lagos Escobar, y ejerció previamente como Superintendenta de Seguridad Social y vicepresidenta ejecutiva de la Fundación para la Promoción y Desarrollo de la Mujer (Prodemu) durante el mandato del Presidente Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle.
