Daniela Campello is a senior lecturer in the discipline of international and public affairs at Columbia University. Her research lies at the intersection of international and comparative political economy and Latin American politics, with a particular focus on how globalization and external economic forces shape domestic politics, policy choices, and democratic accountability in emerging economies. Her current research examines the political economy of development and climate transition, China–Latin America relations, environmental politics, and democratic resilience and erosion. She is a research associate at the Laboratório de Estudos Geopolíticos da Amazônia Legal (LEGAL), a member of the Working Group on Global (Dis)Order, a joint initiative of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the British Academy, and a member of the Working Group on Global Challenges to Democracy at the Toda Peace Institute. Before entering academia, Campello worked as an international funding manager in the Rio de Janeiro state government, as a sell-side financial analyst at UBS Pactual, and as a business analyst at Accenture. She received her PhD in Political Science from UCLA.
