H.E Ambassador Kevin Marino Cabrera

Ambassador of U.S to Panama

Ambassador Kevin Marino Cabrera was nominated by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate on April 9, 2025, to serve as the U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Panama.

Cabrera was born in Miami, Florida, to Cuban exile parents who fled communist oppression in Cuba in search of freedom and the American Dream. His mother, who had attended medical school in Cuba, worked in a factory in Hialeah, Florida, while his father pumped gas at a marina. They instilled in him the values of faith, family, and hard work. He is married to Andrea Altamirano-Duque.

Before his appointment, Cabrera served as a Miami-Dade County commissioner, where he chaired the committee overseeing Miami International Airport and served as vice chair of the Miami-Dade International Trade Consortium. He led trade delegations to key partners—including France, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic—strengthening commercial ties and expanding opportunities for American businesses and workers. He also convened the 26th InterAmerican Conference of Mayors and Local Authorities, uniting leaders from across Latin America and the Caribbean to address infrastructure, governance, and regional development
