From June 2005 to September 2008, Roberto Alvarez held the position of permanent representative of the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States (OAS) with the rank of ambassador. While at the OAS, he served as chairman of the Permanent Council (2005), chair of the Subcommittee on Partnership for Development Policies of the Permanent Executive Committee of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (2006–2007), and of the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs of the Permanent Council (2007–2008).

Kamala D. Harris is the vice president of the United States. She was elected vice president after a lifetime of public service, having served as district attorney of San Francisco, California attorney general, and U.S. senator. Vice President Harris was born in Oakland, California, to parents who emigrated from India and Jamaica. She is a graduate of Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of Law.

Julie Chung currently serves as the acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA).

Chung became the principal deputy assistant secretary in WHA in November 2018. She was previously the director for Japan in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and the acting deputy assistant secretary from February–September 2018. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of minister-counselor, she held positions as the deputy chief of mission in Cambodia and economic counselor in Thailand.

He’s held several leadership positions within Medtronic, including general manager of Medtronic operations in Peru; director of surgical Innovations and early technologies based in Mexico City. Previously, Bernal was an executive at Johnson & Johnson based in Mexico City where he was corporate business executive manager; key distribution manager, country sales manager and marketing manager.
