Before assuming this role in 2017, Katherine Serrano served nine years in the Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health in Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health’s Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health (CDRH). She began her FDA career as part of the 2008 inaugural class of FDA fellows and has worked as a scientific reviewer and served as the Diabetes Diagnostic Devices Branch Chief and the Deputy Director of FDA’s Division of Chemistry and Toxicology Devices.

James Horne is a digital commerce innovator and thought leader with a deep passion for driving business success from digital commerce ecosystems. With more than 20 years of experience as a solutions architect. Horne made his first online sale—a music CD—via an eCommerce system built with open source software in 1996. His digital retail experiences have given him a comprehensive understanding of every challenge facing businesses and opportunities that exist within them. He also has extensive experience in omnichannel marketing and bricks-and-clicks businesses.

Nicolás Kaplun is the chief business officer and general manager for Latin America at Globant. Through this position, he runs and oversees all aspects of the Latin America operation at Globant, including the business development strategy, team building, and management and overall client relationship.

Heather Conklin is the senior vice president and the general manager of Salesforce’s Trailhead business.

Through this position, Conklin is responsible for all product, engineering, marketing, and GTM for Trailhead, myTrailhead, and the Trailhead Community. Prior to this, she led Salesforce’s Integrated Customer Experience group, which focused on helping customers achieve the Customer 360 vision across all Salesforce products.

Sarah Higgins is a member of the Investment Strategy Group (ISG), focusing on strategic and tactical asset allocation as well as portfolio construction for Private Wealth Management clients. Sarah is also a member of the GS Trust Company Investment Policy Committee and serves as Business Unit Manager for ISG Global. Sarah received her Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 2008. She was a summer associate in 2007 with Standard & Poor's Corporate Ratings Consumer Products Group.

Oussama Fatri is responsible for developing customized analytics and asset allocation solutions for both institutional and private investors, as well as advising clients on a range of investment topics such as portfolio construction, risk management, and implementation best practices. Earlier in his career, Oussama was a key contributor in the design of ISG’s Strategic Factor Allocation process and the quantitative research behind it. He also assisted in quantitative modeling and analysis for ISG’s tactical asset allocation. He joined Goldman Sachs in January 2010.

Cristina Vollmer Burelli, a Venezuelan-American social entrepreneur, is the founder and executive director of V5Initiative, a non-profit that leads and supports broad initiatives that promote better and more informed policy making and governance at the national and international level. V5 Initiative promotes and empowers the involvement of individuals, NGO’s and the private sector in matters of public policy through the dissemination of information that will raise awareness and invite action.

Antonio Ortiz-Mena is a Senior Vice President at ASG, where he provides strategic counsel and assistance to clients across Latin America and on trade matters. 

Dr. Barbara Kotschwar is the Executive Director of the Visa Economic Empowerment Institute, leading the team of fellows and setting the research agenda. Until October 2018 she worked with the Investment Policy team at the World Bank, spearheading thought leadership on services and investment policy.

Dr. Juan José Daboub is an entrepreneurially minded professional who started his career as an engineer before moving into government. In 1999, he was the youngest senior cabinet member in El Salvador, serving first as Chief of Staff to the president and then as Minister of Finance. Later, as a Managing Director at the World Bank Group, he was credited with having driven several corporate initiatives and reforms, including leading the institution’s global agenda on governance and anti-corruption.
