Colombians head to the polls on May 31 in a highly polarized race to succeed President Gustavo Petro. Will the country follow the rightward shift reshaping politics throughout much of today’s Latin America—or will its political left hold onto the Casa de Nariño for a second consecutive term? The outcome carries dramatically different implications for Colombia’s economy, security, relationship with the Donald Trump administration, regional alliances, and more.
