Overview

Attracting Investment for Growth and Development

With a severe Covid-19 death toll, millions living below the poverty line, and a large informal economy, Peru faces enormous challenges in reactivating its economy. However, with years of macroeconomic stability, a network of trade agreements, and abundant natural resources, the economy is showing its inherent strength and there are clear signs for optimism. Peru is registering a good recovery pace in key sectors of the economy, and GDP growth is projected to rebound to 13 percent in 2021, per the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

For the 16th consecutive year, Peru’s Foreign Affairs Ministry and Americas Society/Council of the Americas will bring together key government figures, as well as private-sector leaders from around Latin America to analyze Peru's economic standing and exchange views on how the public and the private sectors can work together to restore growth that leads to sustainable and equitable development.

The conference will be conducted in Spanish. The event will be broadcast on this page; no registration will be required to watch.

Note: Registration for this event is now closed. As the program will be in Spanish, if you require interpretation, please email Juan Serrano-Badrena at jserrano@as-coa.org to receive the Zoom login details.
