Presidents of the Americas
Presidents of the Americas
Throughout the year, Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) hosts heads of state from the Western Hemisphere as part of our Presidents of the Americas series. The series includes private meetings exclusive to AS/COA members as well as public forums that convene business leaders and leading policymakers to discuss the political, economic, and investment outlooks of their countries.
In recent years, we have hosted presidents from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay, among others.
For a second time, Chile's leader joined AS/COA for a private event on September 22 during his visit to New York for UNGA.
AS/COA welcomed Guyana's leader, Irfaan Ali, for a private event on September 21.
In light of the 78th UN General Assembly, Americas Society/Council of the Americas hosted Suriname's President Chan Santokhi.
AS/COA welcomed Ecuador's president for an invitation-only event on September 20.
On September 19, Peru's president came to AS/COA for a private event, on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly.
