During UNGA, the Guatemalan president made his second visit to AS/COA.
Overview
On September 25, 2025, Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo attended a private event at AS/COA with corporate members. The president spoke about his plan to foster economic growth, improve the country’s health system, and make regulatory processes more efficient through digitalization and bureaucratic reforms.
Also present at the meeting were the Guatemalan Ambassador the U.S. Hugo Beteta, the Guatemalan Permanent Representative to the UN José Alberto Bríz Gutiérrez, the Guatemalan Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN María José del Águila Castillo, press secretary Santiago Palomo Vila, and the president's private secretary Ana Glenda Tager.
This is Arévalo's second visit to AS/COA in tandem with his UNGA trips; he participated in a similar 2024 event.
