This forum hosted by Young Professionals of the Americas (YPA) will showcase Argentina’s entrepreneurial potential to key stakeholders in Washington, DC and identify policies that foster innovation. It will also provide a platform for entrepreneurs to share their stories of success and failure, and exchange ideas for how to best promote Argentina as a regional hub for entrepreneurship.

Ady Beitler is an integration and trade senior specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, where he leads technology-based projects in trade facilitation, such as ConnectAmericas.com and the Argentine Trade Single Window. Beitler also coordinates the Americas Business Dialogue’s Digital Economy working group. He is also co-founder and CEO of Nilus.org, a non-profit technology organization dedicated to rescuing food waste and distribute it among social shelters.

Founder and CEO, Startup Buenos Aires

Lisa Besserman, founder and CEO of Startup Buenos Aires, has been named as Business Insider’s Top 100 Most Influential Women in Tech, and the Business Innovator of Latin America by the Council of the Americas. Besserman moved to Buenos Aires from New York City to create Startup Buenos Aires, and accelerator program that represents the startup, tech and entrepreneurial community of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Argentina in the U.S.

Gerardo Díaz Bartolomé, a career diplomat, was appointed deputy chief of mission at the Embassy of Argentina in Washington, DC in June 2018, where he had served as head for political affairs since 2016. As a diplomat, he served at the General Directorate of Malvinas and South Atlantic (2002–2003) and at the Deputy Foreign Minister’s Office (2004–2005) to be later appointed Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister between 2005 and 2008.

Facundo Martin Diaz is a tech entrepreneur, advisor and investor. He is the co-founder of Playhonholo and the director of The Reality Code foundation.

Originally from Buenos Aires, he is currently based in the so-called Silicon Beach, a tech and entertainment hub in Los Angeles. He moved there after founding different projects and startups related to XR technologies (VR, AR, MR) that raised millions of dollars.

Zoe Dauth is a program manager at the Americas Society/Council of the Americas in Washington, DC, where she collaborates with the diplomatic and business communities to advance public policies on trade and investment promotion throughout the hemisphere. In her role she leads the development of the Council’s Healthcare Series and the Young Professionals of the Americas’ DC network.
