Overview

Host of Democracy Dialogues Eric Farnsworth interviewed Simon Rosenberg, president of the New Democrat Network and the New Policy Institute, a think tank based in Washington, DC, on the U.S. midterm election results. A prominent American political strategist and thought leader, Rosenberg is also a frequent commentator in the national media.

Control of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and numerous statehouses were at stake on Tuesday, November 8. At a time of uncertainty and change, with unprecedented pressures on the democratic process, Hispanic voters are a critical component of the electorate and play an important role in determining final results. Yet Hispanic voters are often miscategorized by observers and their interests are often misunderstood.

#DemocracyDialogues is a series of conversations we need to be having now on the state of democracy in the Americas. Hosted by Eric Farnsworth, these one-on-one interviews with leading democracy practitioners explore the most difficult issues of regional democratic governance with an eye toward pragmatic, deeply considered solutions. We invite you to join the conversation!
