To start the seventh AS/COA Women's Hemispheric Network (WHN) Forum in Miami, NBCUniversal Media's Marcello Coltro gave a presentation on how the initiative Voces de E! has been increasing diversity on the screen and behind the cameras within the company. Coltro showcase a number of successful television shows that represent minorities. He also talked about how male leaders can promote gender equity by establishing positive role models on fair employment, anti-discrimination actions, and gender-inclusive decision making.

Coltro explained that he has worked for years to create production teams with greater gender equity. Consistency and resiliency, he explained, are crucial to increasing diversity in the workplace. "This is really a mission," he said. "I go to meetings and have other producers rolling their eyes and saying 'Here he comes again.' And you have to go again, and again. You have to be the pain until people understand that you need to bring that to the conversation."
