"Women are uniquely positioned in this space," said Jennifer Prescott of Amazon Web Services (AWS) about public policy in a panel entitled "Women Advancing and Shaping Latin America's Policy Future." The 10th Annual AS/COA Women's Hemispheric Network Conference in Miami gathered women leaders who work to craft better laws and regulation to talk about their industries and careers.

“My biggest piece of advice is to just do things scared and to just make a decision and go," said Roberta Braga of the Digital Democracy Institute of the Americas. Braga and her co-panelists spoke about their experiences working with governments around public policy issues and how bold action and fearlessness helped them succeed. "As women, I feel that we are excellent communicators… We read the room really well … We provide an edge that sometimes we take it for granted," said Sally Ng of Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal International Networks.

Prescott, Braga, and Ng answered questions and provided advice to the attendees of the conference. "You need to have your cabinet," said Ng. "Your cabinet is a set of tools and/or people that will help you to succeed and will help you to validate whatever it is that you want to do to ensure that you continue to be on the right path.”

Braga added: "A lot of young women come to me often and they ask ‘What if I do something and it’s the wrong thing?’ What I’ve learned… is that nothing is forever and if you make a decision, you’ll get experience from that decision and if it’s not something you love, you can pivot.”
