Venezuelan Election: Cards Are Stacked For Maduro

As the April 14 presidential elections in Venezuela approach, candidates Nicolás Maduro and Henrique Capriles intensified their campaigns to succeed the late President Hugo Chávez. On Bloomberg TV's Market Makers, AS/COA's Christopher Sabatini analyzes the current election landscape and the political future for the next Venezuelan leader. "All cards are stacked in favor of Maduro...on the other hand, the wheels are beginning to fall off the wagon for the Bolivarian Chavista Revolution," said Sabatini. "People are beginning to be much more calculating how they're going to cast their ballot," explained Sabatini. Although Capriles may represent the voice of change, "he's walking into a very polarized situation...he's trying to soften the hard edges of the opposition, but still it's going to be a tough job," Sabatini added.
