Overview

The Amazon biosphere covers a massive geographic area of South America, including a large portion of Venezuela. While much attention has focused in recent years on the environmental management practices of other nations, less attention has been paid to the destruction aided and abetted by successive chavista regimes in Venezuela.

Please join Americas Society/Council of the Americas for a conversation with Cristina Burelli, an internationally known advocate for the Venezuelan Amazon, who will explore these timely issues.

Speakers:

  • Cristina Burelli, Co-Founder and Executive Director, V5 Initiative Inc.
  • Eric Farnsworth, Vice President, Americas Society/Council of the Americas (interviewer)
