Overview
AS/COA's Trade Advisory Group (TAG) convened a discussion in DC on the EU–Mercosur Interim Trade Agreement (iTA), featuring insights from Penny Naas, senior vice president of innovation and competitiveness for the German Marshall Fund of the United States, and Kellie Meiman Hock, senior counselor at McLarty Associates and advisor to TAG.
The conversation explored the strategic significance of the agreement following its January 2026 signature and the provisional application of its trade provisions, as well as its implications for trade, investment, and economic competitiveness across Europe and Latin America. Participants also examined the role of the private sector in navigating an increasingly dynamic global trade environment.
