AS/COA held launch events for the Winter 2012 issue of Americas Quarterly in New York and Washington to discuss new perspectives on the Sino-Latin American relationship and its implications for the United States.

At this event, a precursor to the Spring 2012 issue of Americas Quarterly, panelists discussed the need to develop comprehensive measures of social inclusion, and the effort by developing countries to implement social inclusion policies.  

AS/COA co-hosted a panel exploring the economic and political prospects of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, particularly in light of Mexico and Canada’s interest in joining the trade group.

An AS/COA panel explored the ramifications of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's January 2012 visit to Latin America, as well as Tehran's ties to the region.

At this Americas Quarterly Fall 2011 issue launch, speakers discussed the various dimensions of impact investing, including its definition, potential to impact social development and social inclusion, challenges for the industry, and the role of public policy.

AS/COA hosted Izabella Teixeira, Brazil's minister of the environment and Lisa Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, to discuss the priorities and challenges of the Joint Initiative on Urban Sustainability.

A panel of technology investors and entrepreneurs discussed drivers of growth, opportunities, and risks related to technology deals in Latin America.
