En Casa: Florencia Knoblovits

Thursday, May 8, 10 am

Florencia Knoblovits is a guitarist, composer, and teacher born in Buenos Aires. She has released two albums with Sisa Quinteto (Creciente and Para ser fuego), plays in a duo dedicated to music by female composers from Latin America with singer Luz Matas, and is a member of the children's music group Vaivén. She was a member of the Celia Torrá Argentine Women's Orchestra.

In 2021, she released her first solo album, Mariposario, created to accompany the reading of the book of the same name. Following this project, Florencia was invited to participate in the 29th Festival Guitarras del Mundo directed by Juan Falú. "Mariposario I" is the first of five pieces created to accompany the reading of the book, released during the pandemic, and includes poems by the singer and her late mother, Laura Pascansky. "Mariposario I" was born as an invitation to travel between different times and spaces, weaving together the dialogue between a daughter and her mother, who invisibly meet through music and poetry.

En Casa: Juan Pablo Esmok Lew

Argentine guitarist Juan Pablo Esmok Lew is back with "Jenaro."
