En Casa: The Series

Watch over 120 original performances recorded from musicians' homes across the Americas during quarantine.

When the pandemic hit and Americas Society was forced to close our 680 Park Avenue building, as happened to venues across the world, we had to find a way to continue to connect with our audiences and support the musicians who are part of our community.

We launched the En Casa (At Home) series, which by the end of 2020 comprised over 120 videos of performances by musicians from around the hemisphere playing joropos, tangos, and bossa novas, baroque dances and contemporary compositions in living rooms, terraces, and empty theaters from New York to Budapest, Montreal, and Santiago, recorded with phones or creative multi-camera setups.

Music of the Americas will take a holiday break and return on January 11. In the meantime, browse through the performances in the YouTube playlist above and catch up on any you might have missed during the year.

We are very happy to have been able to bring music from their homes to yours almost daily, and give much-needed financial support to the musicians worldwide in doing so. If you would like to join us as we bring this music to life and support these artists and their work, become a member of Americas Society today

You can also watch videos from our other series, Recuerdos (Memories), which features memorable past performances from Americas Society.
