Sidney N. Weiss

Sidney N. Weiss is a New York attorney specializing in customs and international trade issues. He is a member of the California and New York Bars. Weiss represents foreign clients doing business with the United States, and United States companies doing business abroad. He is the past president of the Customs and International Bar Association, the largest association of customs and international trade lawyers in the United States. Weiss is currently a member of the Council (Board of Directors) of the International Bar Association, vice president of the American Foreign Law Association, and vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Customs Law Committee. He began his career as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice. Weiss is currently in private practice and has represented clients from many industries in import and export regulatory and compliance matters, including disputes involving free trade areas. He also has represented companies and industries during free trade area negotiations and has testified before Congress regarding various aspects of free trade area agreements. Weiss speaks several foreign languages including Spanish, Portuguese and French.
