Santiago Rojas Arroyo
Santiago Rojas Arroyo is the north regional manager of the CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and the institution's representative in Peru. He held different positions such as minister of commerce, industry and tourism of Colombia; president of the Foreign Trade Bank – BANCOLDEX; general director of taxes and customs; adviser to the Colombian Mission to the WTO; director of the Colombian Institute of Foreign Trade; CAN legal consultant, among others. In the academic field, he served as professor and the chair of international economic law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He is the author of several publications, such as The Rules of the Game of the FTA and Legal Aspects of the Free Trade Agreement between Colombia and the United States. He is a lawyer by profession and a graduate of the Javeriana University in Bogotá. He also a specialization in negotiations and international relations from the Universidad de los Andes.
Santiago Rojas Arroyo se desempeña como gerente regional norte de CAF y representante de la institución en Perú. Ejerció distintos cargos como: ministro de comercio, industria y turismo de Colombia; presidente del Banco de Comercio Exterior – BANCOLDEX; director general de impuestos y aduanas; asesor de la Misión de Colombia ante la OMC; director del Instituto Colombiano de Comercio Exterior; consultor jurídico de la CAN, entre otros. En el ámbito académico, se desempeñó como profesor de la cátedra de derecho económico Internacional en la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Es autor de varias publicaciones, tales como: Las Reglas de Juego del TLC y Aspectos Jurídicos del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Colombia y Estados Unidos. Es abogado de profesión, es graduado de la Universidad Javeriana en Bogotá, de nacionalidad colombiana, con especialización en negociaciones y relaciones internacionales de la Universidad de los Andes.
