Raúl Pérez Reyes has served as Minister of Economy and Finance since May 13, 2025. Before this appointment, he was Minister of Transport and Communications from September 6, 2023.

Pérez Reyes' extensive public sector experience includes two terms as Minister of Production (January–September 2023 and 2018–2019), as well as Vice Minister of Communications (2011–2014). He has also served as Vice Minister of Energy, Manager at Osinergmin, and Executive at Osiptel, among other positions in the private sector.

He holds a degree in Economics from Universidad de Lima, a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and a Master’s in Economics from Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), Mexico.
