Osvaldo Gimenez has been responsible for leading MercadoPago since 2004, MercadoLibre’s digital payments solution, which is available in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, and Peru. He is in charge of setting MercadoPago’s strategy, defining product priorities, and overseeing its development to enable access to digital payments for millions of consumers and merchants. Mr. Gimenez joined MercadoLibre in 2000 as country manager for Argentina and was also responsible for launching Mercado Libre in Chile, Uruguay, and Peru. Prior to joining MercadoLibre, he was an Associate with Booz and Company, a firm he joined in 1994. There, Mr. Gimenez worked in projects of strategy and organizational effectiveness for clients in financial services and consumer products throughout the Americas. Mr. Gimenez holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and an Industrial Engineering degree from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology. A native of Argentina, he is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
