Nelson Ferreira

Nelson Ferreira is a Senior Partner at McKinsey’s São Paulo office, where he has worked since 2000. He leads the Agribusiness practice in Latin America and is one of the firm’s global leaders in agriculture (including biofuels) and basic materials.
He has extensive experience in strategy, operations, and supply chain, with a strong focus on digital transformation and the application of advanced analytics to drive productivity and efficiency. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale transformations across agribusiness and related industries, including growth strategy, performance improvement, and portfolio optimization.
He is a member of the McKinsey Global Institute Council, which advises on MGI research on global economic, business, and technology trends and has provided leadership to efforts to define proprietary financial models for optimizing land usage. In his local community, Nelson is a member of the advisory board for the São Paulo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Nelson holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, with concentrations in Finance and Strategy, and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of São Paulo.
