Mauro Borges Lemos

President, AgĂȘncia Brasileira de Desenvolvimento Industrial (ABDI)

Mauro Borges Lemos is the president of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development since February 2011, appointed by President Dilma Rousseff. Borges is also a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where he served as general director for the Center for Regional Development and Planning (Cedeplar). He served as board member for different Brazilian and international professional and research societies. Before taking his current position, Borges served as technical consultant on different ABDI projects, supporting the design, analysis, and assessment of Brazilian industrial policy. He also chairs the board of the Belo Horizonte Tech Park - bh.tech. Borges is an economist with a doctorate in economics from London University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois and the University of Paris.
