Mauricio Santa María

President, National Association of Financial Institutions (ANIF)

Mauricio Santa María currently serves as president of the National Association of Financial Institutions (ANIF). He has extensive experience in the public sector serving as director of the National Planning Department (DNP) and minister of social protection (currently the Ministry of Health and Social Protection). Previously, he was deputy director of Fedesarrollo, worked as senior economist at the World Bank within the Poverty Unit for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region, and also held the position of president of EConcept. At the academic level, he works as a professor at the Universidad de los Andes. Santa María is an economist from the Universidad de los Andes and holds a PhD in economics from Georgetown University.
