Luis Guillermo Plata
Luis Guillermo Plata is the founder and CEO of the Cornerstone Group, the largest private equity fund in Colombia. Previously, he served as the Colombian minister of commerce, industry, and tourism. Plata also served as president of the export, tourism, and foreign investment promotion agency (PROEXPORT) for four years. Under his leadership, PROEXPORT was selected in 2004 as one of the five best export promotion agencies by International Trade Center (ITC) in Geneva. From 2002 to 2006, Plata served as managing director and legal representative for the presidential campaign of former president Alvaro Uribe. He was selected by the World Economic Forum in Davos as one of the top 100 Young World Leaders. Plata has been a finalist for the PORTAFOLIO Award, in the category of Best Business Leader, and has also been the recipient of the Gran Orden Mérito a la Democracia, awarded by the Colombian Senate. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

El Sr. Plata también fue presidente de PROEXPORT, la agencia de promoción de la inversión extranjera, exportación y turismo. Bajo su liderazgo, PROEXPORT fue seleccionado en el 2004 por el International Trade Center (ITC) como una de las mejores 5 agencias de promoción de exportación. También fue director general y representante legal de la campaña presidencial del ex presidente de Colombia, Álvaro Uribe. El Sr. Plata fue seleccionado por el World Economic Forum en Davos como uno de los 100 mejores lideres jóvenes en el mundo. Adicionalmente, ha sido finalista para el premio PORTAFOLIO, en la categoría de mejor líder empresario, y ha sido galardonado con el Gran Orden Mérito a la Democracia, otorgado por el Senado de Colombia. El Sr. Plata es licenciado en Administración Empresarial de University of Arizona y obtuvo su MBA del Harvard Business School.
