Kathy Lai is deputy chief executive officer of Enterprise Singapore, overseeing Global Markets. Enterprise Singapore is the government agency championing enterprise development. The agency works with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate, and internationalise. It also supports the growth of Singapore as a hub for global trading and startups, and builds trust in Singapore’s products and services through quality and standards. Ms. Lai served as assistant chief executive officer, and subsequently, deputy chief executive and acting CEO, of then-IE Singapore, over a period of more than 15 years. She oversaw trade promotion, trade services and policy development, customer services, as well as international markets including Americas and Europe. Ms. Lai was awarded the Overseas Merit Scholarship and has a Master in Arts from the University Oxford. In 2008, she received the National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver) Award.
