Juan Manuel Alzate is a Principal at Boston Consulting Group. He has over 15 years of private sector experience in the electrical power industry across the continent. His expertise includes corporate strategy design and implementation, innovation, adoption of software and hardware technology, business model development, as well as the application, formulation, and regulatory policies of the industry.

Juan Manuel holds a Civil Engineering degree from the National University of Colombia. He has a master’s degree in Hydraulic Resource Management from the Faculty of Mines and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Los Andes and the University of Virginia. He has worked in Sweden, Kenya, Colombia, and several countries across Central and South America.
