Juan Carlos Jobet

former Minister of Energy and Mining of Chile

Juan Carlos Jobet has extensive experience in public service and the business world. He was minister of Energy and Mining during the second government of Sebastián Piñera. Between 2013 and 2014 he served as Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, and before that as Undersecretary of Housing and Urban Planning.

Before entering public service, he developed his career working in investment banking, and has held various executive or director positions in various industries, including finance, real estate, forestry, infrastructure, and waste management. Since March 2022, he has been part of the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow.

Juan Carlos Jobet has a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Public Administration from Harvard University and a Business Engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
