Gregory Romero
Gregory (Greg) Romero is Senior Vice-President, Mexico Natural Gas since July, 2024. In this role, Greg has the overall responsibility over TC Energy business in Mexico, ensuring the operational excellence and sustainable growth of this Business Unit. TC Energy is the largest Canadian investor in Mexico with approximately USD $11 billion of assets.
Mr. Romero is a Senior executive with nearly 30 years of domestic and international experience in the midstream and upstream energy sectors, having led commercial and legal teams in pipelines, marketing and trading, regulatory compliance, operations and commercial law in the U.S., Mexico, South America and the Middle East.
He joined TC Energy in 2022 as Vice-President of U.S. and Mexico Pipelines Law, leading a team of more than 50 lawyers and legal professionals in Houston and Mexico.
Prior to joining TC Energy, led the legal department supporting the Midstream and Marketing Division of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, as well as held the role of President and General Manager of a Latin American business unit of Occidental Petroleum with daily production of 45,000 Boe/d and 600 employees.
Mr. Romero is a Juris Doctor from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). He also holds a double degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish from the Oberlin College and is a fluent Spanish speaker.

El Sr. Romero es un ejecutivo senior con casi 30 años de experiencia nacional e internacional en los sectores de energía midstream y upstream, habiendo liderado equipos comerciales y legales en áreas como gasoductos, comercialización y trading, cumplimiento regulatorio, operaciones y derecho comercial en Estados Unidos, México, Sudamérica y Medio Oriente.
Se unió a TC Energy en 2022 como Vicepresidente de Asuntos Legales para Gasoductos en EE.UU. y México, liderando un equipo de más de 50 abogados y profesionales legales en Houston y México.
Antes de incorporarse a TC Energy, dirigió el departamento legal que daba soporte a la División de Midstream y Comercialización de Occidental Petroleum Corporation. Además, fue Presidente y Director General de una unidad de negocio en América Latina de dicha empresa, con una producción diaria de 45,000 barriles equivalentes de petróleo (Boe/d) y un equipo de 600 empleados.
El Sr. Romero tiene un Doctorado en Derecho (Juris Doctor) de la Universidad de California en Los Ángeles (UCLA). También posee una doble licenciatura en Estudios Latinoamericanos y Español de Oberlin College, y habla español con fluidez.
