Fernando Sandoval is chief financial officer and co-founder of Kapital Grupo Financiero, where he leads the company’s financial strategy, capital structure, and long-term growth initiatives.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including senior roles at HR Ratings México, where he served as executive director of Financial Institutions, and as a partner at J Capital Partners. He also served as president of the IE Search Fund Club, fostering entrepreneurship and investment initiatives.

Under his leadership, Kapital has evolved into a technology-driven financial ecosystem, leveraging advanced digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency, risk management, and scalability.

Kapital has doubled its valuation to USD $1.35 billion in under two years, achieving unicorn status, while expanding its balance sheet to USD $3.1 billion. In 2025, the company further strengthened its market position through the acquisition of key assets from Grupo Financiero Intercam.

Fernando holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Master’s degree in Digital Business from IE School of Science and Technology, and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
