Daniel Arturo Peña Fernández is a seasoned professional with solid experience in both the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on trade facilitation and enhancing national competitiveness. He has distinguished himself by leading institutional modernization and operational transformation processes, contributing directly to the efficiency and dynamism of international trade. He currently serves as vice minister of foreign trade at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and MSMEs, under the leadership of Minister Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, advancing strategic policies aimed at promoting exports, attracting investment, and positioning the Dominican Republic as a key player in international markets.

From 2020 to early 2026, he served as deputy director of technology at the General Directorate of Customs, where he led technological modernization initiatives and the optimization of customs processes, contributing to trade facilitation. From 2004 to 2020, he held leadership positions in sales, marketing, and business management at Nestlé Caribbean Region, where he developed growth strategies and managed financial performance across Caribbean markets. He holds an MBA with a concentration in International Business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, graduating Cum Laude, and is a graduate of La Salle School.
