Carlos Gutierrez
Carlos Gutierrez is currently a chair of Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), a premier strategic advisory and commercial diplomacy firm. Gutierrez joined ASG from Citibank, where he served as vice chairman of the Institutional Clients Group and as a member of the Senior Strategic Advisory Group. He also served as U.S. secretary of Commerce from 2005 to 2009 under President George W. Bush. As the 35th secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, he worked with foreign government and business leaders to advance economic relationships, enhance trade, and promote U.S. exports. Gutierrez played a key role in the passage of landmark free trade agreements that strip away trade barriers, expand export opportunities, and boost global investment. Previously, he spent nearly 30 years with Kellogg Company, a global manufacturer and marketer of well-known food brands. After assignments in Latin America, Canada, Asia, and the United States, he became president and CEO of Kellogg in 1999 —the youngest CEO in the company’s hundred year history. Secretary Gutierrez is on the boards of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, MetLife, Time Warner, and Viridis Learning. He is also a national trustee at the University of Miami and a visiting scholar at the University’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies.
Carlos Gutierrez es actualmente presidente de la junta directiva de Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), una importante consultora especializada en asesoría estratégica y diplomacia comercial. Gutiérrez se unió a ASG desde Citibank, donde se desempeñó como vicepresidente del Grupo de Clientes Institucionales y como miembro del Grupo Senior de Asesoría Estratégica. También sirvió como secretario de Comercio entre 2005-2009 durante la presidencia de George W. Bush. Anteriormente, permaneció por casi 30 años junto a Kellogg Company, un fabricante y comercializador mundial de conocidas marcas de alimentos. Después haber completado asignaciones en América Latina, Canadá, Asia y los Estados Unidos, se convirtió en presidente y director ejecutivo de Kellogg en 1999, siendo el CEO más joven en la historia de la centenaria compañía. Gutiérrez pertenece además a las juntas directivas de Occidental Petroleum Corporation, MetLife, Time Warner, y Viridis Learning. También se desempeña como administrador nacional de la Universidad de Miami y como profesor visitante en el Instituto de Estudios Cubanos y Cubano Americanos de la misma Universidad.
