Candela Macchi is the head of Ratings & Research for Latin America at Moody’s Ratings, where she oversees the firm’s ratings and research activities across corporates, financial institutions, sub-sovereigns, infrastructure, and project finance. In this role, she helps advance Moody’s regional strategy by fostering analytical excellence, strengthening market engagement, and promoting thought leadership across Latin America.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Candela held senior positions at S&P Global Ratings, where she led analytical teams and advised on complex financing, infrastructure, and capital markets transactions across a wide range of sectors and jurisdictions. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with issuers, investors, financial institutions, sponsors, and policymakers, developing broad expertise in credit risk assessment, infrastructure finance, and capital markets.

Candela holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in project valuation.
