Ambassador Ana Cecilia Gervasi

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peru

Ambassador Ana Cecilia Gervasi is Peru’s minister of foreign affairs. Her previous positions include: vice minister of foreign affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; vice minister of foreign trade at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism; director general for economic affairs, director general of economic promotion and director of investment promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; consul general of Peru in Toronto (Canada); consul general of Peru in Washington, D.C. (United States); minister counselor at the Permanent Mission of Peru to the United Nations in New York (United States); political counselor at the Embassy of Peru in Buenos Aires (Argentina); and peruvian delegate at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland), where she represented Peru at the World Trade Organization (WTO). She has been a member of the Peruvian negotiating team for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, now known as CPTPP, as well as for the Free Trade Agreement between Peru and the United States of America. Ambassador Gervasi holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, a postgraduate degree in international relations and a professional degree in diplomacy from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru, as well as a master's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics (LSE). She also has specialized studies in multilateral diplomacy from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI) at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
