Alonso Segura Vasi
Alonso Segura Vasi is Peru's Minister of Economy and Finance where he previously served as chief of staff. Throughout his career in the private and public sectors, he has been chief economist and head of strategy at Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), Peru´s largest bank; chief economist at Banco Wiese Sudameris (now Scotiabank Peru); and advisor to the executive director for the Southern Cone and economist at the Financial Affairs Department at the International Monetary Fund. Minister Segura earned his degree in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed his doctoral studies. Minister Segura holds international certificates in investments (Chartered Financial Analyst-CFA) and risk management (Financial Risk Manager-FRM). He is a Fulbright Scholar and has held teaching positions at the University of Pennsylvania, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and Universidad del Pacífico in Peru.
Alonso Segura Vasi es ministro de Economía y Finanzas del Perú. Antes de su cargo actual, se desempeñó como jefe del gabinete de asesores. Ha sido economista jefe y director de estrategia en el Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), el banco más grande del Perú; economista jefe de Banco Wiese Sudameris (hoy Scotiabank Perú); asesor del director ejecutivo para el Cono Sur y economista en el Departamento de Asuntos Financieros del Fondo Monetario Internacional, entre otros cargos. Segura concluyó sus estudios superiores en Economía en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Además, tiene una Maestría en Economía de University of Pennsylvania, donde también realizó estudios de doctorado (PhD (ABD)). Segura posee certificaciones internacionales en inversiones (Chartered Financial Analyst-CFA) y en gestión de riesgos (Risk Financial Manager-FRM). Ha ocupado cargos docentes en University of Pennsylvania, la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, y la Universidad del Pacífico en Perú. Segura también es un becario de Fulbright.
