Aline Cardoso

Secretary of Economic Development and Labor, City of São Paulo

Aline Cardoso is São Paulo's municipal secretary for economic development and labor, a position she took on in 2017 with the objective of stimulating the generation of jobs and income, entrepreneurship, and food security for the population of São Paulo. Graduated and post-graduated in international relations from PUC-SP and the University of Strasbourg, she worked in the sector for 15 years, stimulating investments and exports. To improve her performance, she took courses in the areas of information technology, law, sustainability and economics at institutions such as UNCTAD / UN and Harvard. She is currently studying a postgraduate course in social urbanism at Insper. She worked in the Government of the State of São Paulo, was a parliamentary advisor at the São Paulo City Council and the São Paulo Legislative Assembly, gaining experience in the creation and implementation of public policies. In 2008, she founded Orbiz, a business development consultancy and international projects, where she worked until, in January 2017, she became a councilor at the São Paulo City Council. She is the creator of the Gente Urbana network, a social mobilization initiative that promotes actions in the field of sustainability, debates on female empowerment and various projects in favor of young people.
