Alfonso Prat-Gay

Minister of Finance of Argentina

Alfonso Prat-Gay is the minister of finance of Argentina. He was national deputy for the City of Buenos Aires from 2009 to 2013 and president of the Deputy Block of the Ari Civic Coalition. Prat-Gay also served as vice president of the Financial Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina from 2012 to 2013 and also as president of the Chamber from 2011 to 2012. He also held different roles in the private sector such as president of the Central Bank of Argentina between 2002 and 2004 and as head of currency research in JPMorgan London. Previously, he was a member of the economic research team in JPMorgan in New York and Buenos Aires, and served as director of macroeconomics studies for the economic consulting company Alpa S.A. in Buenos Aires. Prat-Gay has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina.
