Aisén Etcheverry
Aisén Etcheverry has extensive experience in the field of digital technologies and public policies related to science, technology, and innovation. She has been a driving force behind key initiatives related to personal data protection, open access to knowledge, and technologies for information management and big data.
In the public sector, she served as the Head of Public Policy at INAPI (National Institute of Industrial Property), advising the Ministry of Economy on international negotiations concerning Intellectual Property and data-related technologies. She was the Executive Director of CORFO's Digital Transformation Committee and the first Director of the National Agency for Research and Development (formerly Conicyt). At the time of her appointment, she was serving as the President of the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CTCI).
In the private sector, she worked as the Manager of Public Policy for the Southern Cone region at Amazon Web Services. During her tenure at ANID, she implemented policies to promote equity in science, technology, and innovation funding instruments.
Aisén Etcheverry holds a law degree from the University of Chile and a Master of Laws from the University of San Francisco, California.
Aisén Etcheverry cuenta con una amplia experiencia en el ámbito de las tecnologías digitales y políticas públicas de CTCI. Ha impulsado iniciativas claves de protección de datos personales, de acceso abierto al conocimiento, y tecnologías para el manejo de información y grandes volúmenes de datos.
En el sector público fue jefa del departamento de Políticas Públicas del INAPI (Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Industrial), asesora del Ministerio de Economía para negociaciones internacionales sobre Propiedad Intelectual y tecnologías asociadas a datos personales. Fue directora ejecutiva del Comité CORFO de Transformación Digital, y la primera directora de la Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo (ex Conicyt). Al momento de su nombramiento se desempeñaba como presidenta del Consejo Nacional de CTCI.
En el sector privado fue Gerente de Políticas Públicas para el Cono sur de Amazon Web Services.
En la ANID implementó políticas de equidad en los instrumentos de fomento a la CTCI.
Es abogada de la Universidad de Chile y Magister en derecho de la Universidad de San Francisco, California.
