Overview

The Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia signed agreements on August 24 in Havana on the last points of a peace deal, wrapping up close to four years of negotiations. The two sides are then expected to ink the final peace agreement as a whole in Colombia on September 23, ending 52 years of an internal armed conflict that's claimed almost a quarter of a million lives.
