YPA Town Hall: Making Sense of the U.S. Latino Vote
YPA members share their perceptions in an open discussion on the factors that influenced Latino voters and the election of Donald Trump.
Overview
Latinos are one of the fastest growing voting blocs in the United States, with some 36.2 million eligible voters accounting for 15 percent of the total U.S. voting population in 2024. This demographic is increasingly diverse and nuanced. Taken as a whole, however, Latinos voted more for Donald Trump than any other Republican in modern history.
One month after the U.S. election, Young Professionals of the Americas invites members to openly share their perceptions of the factors that influenced Latino voters and the election of Donald Trump. As a community of Latinos from the region or born in the United States, as well as friends we call "Latin Americanists," our members' have incredibly relevant and unique insights into the dynamics at play and the psyches of the respective Latino communities they interact with. Rather than listen to one expert, we will gather, in a conversation co-moderated by YPA Steering Committee member Elizabeth Gonzalez and AS/COA's Chase Harrison, to listen to each other and share perspectives in a moderated conversation.
Attendees are encouraged to read "How Latinos Voted in the 2024 U.S. Elections" to inform what we hope will be an honest and inclusive discussion.
YPA members and non-members can register through this portal.
