Ethical sourcing in the fashion industry is becoming more and more important as consumers are becoming increasingly conscious about brands' impact on human rights and environmental issues. For instance, in rural Latin America, the artisans that Mercado Global works with create ethically-sourced and hand-woven accessories, which in turn provides them with the ability to purchase nutritious food for their families and send their children to school with their new income. Mercado Global is an NGO that operates in Guatemala to provide local artisans with a unique approach to poverty alleviation. At the same time, it provides consumers of Mercado Global’s products with the opportunity to support this model, the artisans, and ultimately support ethically-sourced fashion. Join us as we bring together pioneers and thought leaders in the industry, including Mercado Global CEO and Founder Ruth DeGolia, for an honest and insightful discussion on how retailers can educate their customers about sustainable sourcing while giving them the opportunity to purchase products that are good for the environment and for society.
