Join the YPA for a cafecito with Lisa Schineller, managing director at Standard & Poor's. Get to know Schineller and discuss career paths, life at a rating agency, and any other questions you may have. This event is the first of YPA's Cafecito Series in New York City, which brings prominent leaders from various fields together with YPA members in a small, intimate setting.

Lisa M. Schineller is an economist and managing director of the Latin American Sovereign Ratings department at Standard & Poor’s. She is responsible for sovereign analysis in the Latin American group, working on Brazil, Mexico, and other credits in the region. In her role as economist, she formulates S&P’s economic forecasts and publications for the Latin America region. Schineller was an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) from 2006 to 2009. She co-developed and co-taught a course entitled “Problems of Economic Growth in Latin America” for Masters degree students. Schineller continues to give guest lectures in a number of courses at SIPA and the Business School. Before joining Standard & Poor’s in August 1999, she worked in the International Finance Division at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC for over three years as the French desk economist and world oil economist. Schineller was also an economist at Exxon Company International, Corporate Affairs, where she analyzed and projected economic and energy developments in Latin America (mainly Brazil) and Europe. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and Spanish from Wellesley College.
