Overview

This October, Brazilians will vote in the hemisphere's largest election—and two familiar names are on the ballot. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is running for an unprecedented fourth term. His main opponent, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, is the son of ex-President Jair Bolsonaro, who is currently in prison for plotting a coup attempt. Polls show the two neck-in-neck, though several other candidates are seeing their numbers rise.

Join Young Professionals of the Americas for an off-the-record roundtable at the A&O Shearman office with expert analysts after the October 4 first round and before the October 25 second round. This discussion will delve into Lula and Flávio's platforms and campaigns, the race's other candidates, the main electoral issues, and scenarios for legislative and gubernatorial races. Speakers will be announced soon.

The conversation will be followed by a drinks reception.
