The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean. But with improving access to vaccines and easing restrictions, many of the economies are showing signs of recovery, even if it is unequal across the region.
Council of the Americas held a timely discussion on the state of regional economies with Felipe Jaramillo, the World Bank's vice president for Latin America and Caribbean.
Jaramillo oversees the World Bank's relationship with 31 countries and a $32 billion portfolio of ongoing projects, technical assistance, and grants. Operations in the region focus on fueling growth, reducing poverty, supporting equality, and protecting the environment.
