Art at Americas Society is pleased to present Telenovela: A Symposium, a two-day gathering exploring the intersections of contemporary art and telenovelas. Providing a critical framework for the exhibition’s ethos, the program will examine the cultural significance and enduring impact of telenovelas across the Americas.

Bringing together artists, scholars, and curators, the symposium examines telenovelas as both a cultural phenomenon and a site of artistic, social, and political inquiry. Through conversations and presentations, participants will interrogate how telenovelas have shaped collective memory, social identities, and visual culture, while influencing contemporary artistic practice throughout the Americas.
This symposium is in conjunction with the exhibition Telenovela, curated by Aimé Iglesias Lukin.
The program's recording will be available on this webpage and on the Art at Americas Society YouTube channel.
